I submitted one piece titled "Escaping Instrumentality". The work is 20" x 30" while the frame size is 21.5" wide x 31.25" tall.
The piece attempts to address women being objectified as caretakers versus the inescapable reality of nature and the biological necessity. The piece also confronts the transformation of past roles of women into the modern struggles of today while noting the perspective of men on women and the ideals placed upon them.
The show is the Fall Art Show which opens Sep. 16th and explores themes in women's studies.
